I am writing this a day late because you have decided to take a great morning nap, but afternoon naps are for suckers. I am lucky if you will take 2 one hour naps the whole afternoon! This morning, you decided that 4:30 was a wonderful time to be awake and you are currently cooing at your bunny in the pack-n-play.
You have changed a lot in this last month. You have found your voice! For the last little while you have been making more noises, but yesterday it was constant. You are going to be a little jabber box once you find words to put with your voice. With your voice has come your laugh...it is one of the best sounds in the world.
You have also started to roll over, but I think it is only when you are really upset. There have been a few times when I have come to get you up in the morning and you are on your back, and not happy about it. I have not been able to get you to do it while I am watching though...maybe I should hide a camera somewhere in your bed...
You are working on holding your head up and can sit in your bumbo chair for a little while. What has really surprised me is the strength in your legs! You love to stand and will hold weight on your legs for a good minute! You haven't quite figured out what your hands are for, but you are starting to experiment with them. You have been consistently sleeping 8 hours a night, which has been wonderful for me, I just need to get to bed when you do!
You have grown amazingly. I measured you yesterday and you are 24 3/4 inches long. That is as long or longer than most 4 month olds! You are starting to out grown your 3month clothes, but the six month are so baggy on you!
We had some adventures this month. We went to see Ron Paul and attended our local caucus. At both these events you behaved amazingly. You even fell asleep at the Ron Paul rally and didn't wake up at the shouting! Your Aunt Skylar also came for a visit and she got to see how you hate driving in the car in the dark. One day we worked in the garden with your cousins. You seemed to enjoy being outside as long as we kept your face out of the sun. You and I have also enjoyed taking walks together when the weather is nice. You love the Baby Bjorn!
You love baths, faces, and playing peek-a-boo. We haven't found anything, other than a dark car ride, that you hate.
Ari, you have brought light and joy into our lives. You are my happy thought. Whenever I think of your smile I can't help but feel happier. Our lives are richer and better with you in it. Thank you for your sweet spirit.
3 Month Photo Shoot:
Ari's Beautiful smile is really hard to capture. She smiles all the time, but as soon as she sees a camera she stares at that instead of smiling, so to get a smile I have to hold the camera off to the side...
Just to give a little perspective, here is how long Ari is at 3 months.....
And here was a day or two after birth...
